Deep lore

Deep lore is fan and internet slang for dense backstory, continuity detail, or community history that rewards long-term attention. It overlaps with Submerged lore on iceberg charts, where "deep" tiers collect references that only dedicated participants recognise.

Where it appears

Video-game wikis, franchise subreddits, Discord servers, and long explainer videos all traffic in deep lore. Iceberg and tier-list formats are popular packaging devices because they turn an invisible knowledge gradient into a single shareable image or runtime.
